Attention all playful mice, whimsical sheep, and twirling snowflakes! Dancers aged 5-18 are warmly invited to audition for the enchanting holiday production of The Nutcracker, performing alongside the talented professional artists of Charlottesville Ballet. While prior dance experience is desired, it is not mandatory. We also have several student roles available to perform alongside the professional company in both Charlottesville and Lynchburg. IMPORTANT—Please note that skin-toned tights and shoes will be required performance attire for Nutcracker 2023.
Students must meet all attendance requirements (as follows) to perform in this year’s production:
- Students are required to attend all Staging Days, Put-Togethers, Rehearsal Reviews, Dress Rehearsals, and Performances as applicable for their casting.
- Students may miss no more than one of their weekly rehearsals.
- If an absence is necessary due to an unforeseen illness or emergency, please give immediate notice to [email protected].
- If your student misses two consecutive rehearsals due to illness, we require a doctor’s note be sent to [email protected].
- A make-up private lesson may be required in the event of an absence.
- Students who do not meet attendance requirements will not be allowed to perform in this year’s production.
