Can you believe Nutcracker is almost upon us?

It may be a heat wave outside, but the CB Staff and Faculty have Snowflakes and Sugar Plums on their minds! Charlottesville Ballet is hosting auditions for (can you believe it?) its NINTH performing season’s production of The Nutcracker.

This year, Charlottesville Ballet is proud to present its brand new expanded party scene. Choreographed by Emily Hartka (with help from Heather Lively Rogers), the dance is loosely (emphasis on the loosely) based on the Regency era style of dance. Keep a sharp eye out for new characters, costumes, and dance moves!

Charlottesville Ballet is also adding petite Snowflakes to its beloved “Snow Scene.” The lucky selected students will have the chance to premiere this role for the first time and take part in the whirling snow storm of Act 1.

Can you picture Petite Snowflakes here?

There are a few other exciting additions to CB’s production, but you’ll have to stay tuned to find out!

And take a peek at this great video that Company Manager Caitlin Lennon put together! And don’t forget Lynchburg friends that CB is hosting an audition in Lynchburg on August 13 as well!

Hope to see you all at the audition!

With Affection,

CBA Staff
