In January 2019, Charlottesville Ballet partnered with WNRN for the first Dead Air concert at the Paramount Theater in the lineup of 22 acts playing Grateful Dead tunes. Katherine Nies created a classical piano mashup inspired by “Rosemary” & “Dark Star” and Charlottesville Ballet company artist Cassidy Burk created choreography to the new score.

This year, we reunited the artists Katherine Nies and Cassidy Burk along with videographer Sophie Brande to create a digital performance created inside The Looking Glass, an immersive art space at the IX Art Park.
