Highlighted Pieces:

Sara Clayborne’s “Silence We Made” was inspired by her coursework at Piedmont Virginia Community College. In her Environmental Science course with Professor Jennifer Scott, Sara was introduced to the story of the the Kauai ō ō bird and heard a recording by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. She was inspired to create this piece about the last male bird of its kind singing a mating call to a female that would never come.

“Letter To My Love” honoring military veterans and their families who served in World War II. Take a “Sentimental Journey” through a time period that inspired many women to join the workforce and become the now-legendary Rosie the Riveters. Watch as our Rosies live through the joys and trials of such an impactful time period. The piece includes music by Rosemary Clooney, Vera Lynn, the Glenn Miller Orchestra, and many other favorites from the Big Band era.
