Help us bring The Nutcracker to life with live orchestra!
In 2023, Charlottesville Ballet launched our partnership with the Charlottesville Symphony to commission live orchestra for our production of The Nutcracker. Benjamin Rous conducted Tchaikovsky’s glorious score for performances across Central Virginia.
This year, we will hold seven performances with a 25-member orchestra in both Lynchburg and Charlottesville, adding approximately $50,000 to production costs. These incredible musicians perform with Charlottesville Symphony, Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra, and top organizations across the region – their Generous supporters like you make these artistic collaborations possible, and we hope you’ll help bring the magic of live music to our production!
