Charlottesville Ballet Academy (CBA) opened in July 2011 and is a nonprofit center for dance education serving over 450 students throughout the Charlottesville area.  CBA is the official training school of the Charlottesville Ballet, Charlottesville’s professional dance company whose mission is to elevate the art of ballet through wellness, performance, education, and community outreach.  CBA offers training  in all dance genres for ages two through adult and offers performance opportunities for young dancers alongside the professional company. Chance To Dance (C2D) is an after-school outreach program for grades K-5 that gives underserved children a hands-on experience with the arts.  The Ballet partners with local public schools in both Charlottesville and Albemarle County and students are selected to receive lifetime scholarships to train at CBA.

Thanks to our community support and dedication, Charlottesville Ballet has grown!

In July 2013, Charlottesville Ballet moved from its Greene County location and relocated both the professional company and the Academy to a new Charlottesville facility 1885 Seminole Trail in Charlottesville. In Summer 2015, the Charlottesville Ballet expanded again through its "Building The Future" campaign and added an additional 2,500 square feet in a new first floor facility.

We are thrilled to be in our expanded space in northern Charlottesville and offer accessible dance education to more members of the community. This location boasts five spacious studios and a studio theatre, enabling us to offer more dance and movement classes for all ages. We look forward to continuing the pursuit of our mission as we grow and hope that you continue to join us on this wonderful journey!

Please feel free to contact us with any questions and thank you for your support!
