Albemarle County Schools Chance To Dance Program

Chance To Dance (C2D) is Charlottesville Ballet’s after-school outreach program for grades K-5 that gives children a hands-on experience with the arts. The Ballet is thrilled to partner with Albemarle County to offer a virtual program for this 2020-2021 academic year!

Students participate in a session of dance classes held once per week after school. These classes are taught by professional artists from the Charlottesville Ballet and are all-inclusive with students actively participating regardless of physical ability or previous dance experience.

The dance genres of Ballet, Jazz, Modern, and Hip Hop, will form the backbone of the Chance To Dance virtual curriculum. Participants are introduced to basic movements and then hone these skills throughout the program. Students see the benefit of applying themselves to both mental and physical challenges and gain self-confidence while learning effective teamwork skills that can be used in other areas of life. We are excited to dance with you all this year.
