The Family Series offers a unique experience for our youngest audience members. Our live performances and storybook ballet events are the perfect way to introduce your child to the magic of dance!
Live Performances
Charlottesville Ballet presents shortened programming that is specially designed for kids and families. Two-hour ballets that start at 8 PM are wonderful for adults…but not easy for young kids! We believe that parents should be able to give their children a more fun, more accessible, and more gratifying theater experience.
Shows and events in our Family Series are family-friendly, matinee performances. Our ticket pricing also reflects our mission to make ballet approachable by making an afternoon at the ballet affordable for all families. Tickets can be purchased right here on our website.
Interactive Experiences
Charlottesville Ballet also offers hands-on events where your child can take to the stage! Each “experience” is centered around a particular classical ballet and is designed for children ages 3 through 8. Look for our “Class with Clara” at The Nutcracker each holiday season plus special after parties following story ballet productions.
Family Events
Charlottesville Ballet gets the whole family dancing each February with the wildly-popular Father/Daughter Valentine Dance. Also look for Charlottesville Ballet at free community events such as Virginia Gingerbread Christmas, First Night Virginia, Tom Tom Founders Festival, and many more.
