Cost/Tickets: FREE! | Families are welcome and encouraged to attend their student’s class showcase.
*All in-person and Zoom guests need to RSVP. In-person seating is limited general admission seating—each student’s family is allowed to reserve a maximum of four in-person tickets. Please RSVP at first come first serve to reserve your space.
An RSVP link is available below for all First Steps families so that we can get a headcount of in-person and Zoom attendees prior to the showcases. A Zoom link will be sent to those that RSVP prior to the event.
Arrival: Please arrive promptly at your scheduled arrival time listed in the chart below. To help limit the number of people at the studio, please do not arrive earlier than your arrival time.
- Belmont Arts Collaborative: Guests and students will follow the signs for Belmont Arts Collaborative, located in Kathy’s Shopping Center in between Found Market and Oasis Day Spa. Staff will greet you and direct you where to go.
- CB’s 29North Studio Theatre: Guests and students will enter the double glass doors between US Cellular and Play It Again Sports and take the elevator to the 2nd floor. Out of the elevator, turn right and follow the hallway around to the Charlottesville Ballet lobby. Staff will greet you in the upstairs lobby and direct you where to go.
Attire: All students should arrive dressed in their CBA class uniform, tights, and hair pulled back off of the neck. Students will put their dance shoes on as soon as they are in the lobby.
Dance Photos: KMS Photography is providing optional individual dancer portraits at the CBA 29North Studios on our First Steps Showcase day on May 19. Any First Steps Division dancers wishing to have photos taken in their class uniform or any attire of their choice may sign up for a mini session via the sign-up link below.
There is no session fee. Photos will be available to view and purchase online after the sessions are completed and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Charlottesville Ballet. When signing up for a time, please make sure to avoid signing up for a slot during your child’s arrival or performance time.
*If you also have a student in one of our other divisions, we will offer separate portrait sign-ups during their Spring Performance rehearsals so that you may have photos taken in costumes.
**PLEASE NOTE: The CBA academic year ends on Friday, May 24, 2024. Therefore, all classes will continue with classes during their regular class times following this First Steps Division Showcase.
Attire Donations: Has your child grown out of their class uniform and shoes? Please feel free to drop off any dance attire you wish to donate at our front desk at any time. These donations will then be available for our Chance To Dance scholarship students or students on financial aid that are in need of dance uniforms for CBA classes. Thank you in advance for any donations you can provide for our students!
